If you replace eMMC chips on Xiaomi phones, you know the struggle. You solder the chip perfectly, flash the engineering file, and then the headache starts. You have to open a command window and type these long, complicated codes manually just to get the RPMB security key to write.
The worst part? Half the time, the phone keeps restarting every 15 seconds while on the engineering firmware. You’re racing against the clock to type the command before the connection drops. It’s stressful and easy to mess up.
There’s a much better way to handle this now using a simple "Helper" tool. It basically does the typing for you instantly, so you don't have to worry about typos or the phone rebooting mid-command.
Here is how to do the job without the stress.
1. The Prep Work
First, handle the hardware side. Install your new, clean eMMC or UFS chip onto the board. Don't worry about programming it with a box yet; just make sure it's soldered on clean.
Next, put the phone in EDL mode and flash the Engineering Firmware (not the stock ROM yet). You can download this for your specific model; usually, the helper tool has a direct link if you don't have it.
Use whatever flash tool you normally use (UMT, UnlockTool, etc.) to write that engineering file.
2. Connect via ADB
Once the flash finishes, boot the phone. It will look different—that's normal, it's the factory test interface.
Check your PC's Device Manager. You need to see "ADB Interface". Engineering ROMs usually turn this on by default. If you see it, you're ready.
3. The One-Click Fix
Open the eMMC UFS Helper tool.
- Click Check ADB Device. Make sure the tool actually sees the phone.
- You’ll see options like Method 1, Method 2, etc. Start with Method 1.
- Click the RPMB Key (or Provision) button.
The tool will instantly shoot the command to the phone. Because it's automated, it hits the phone faster than it can reboot. You should see a log saying something like "Provision Completed."
Important: Immediately click Check Status in the tool. You want to see the text change from "Not Provisioned" to "Provisioned."
4. Verify on the Phone Screen
Don't just trust the computer. Pick up the phone and check the actual hardware status.
- Open the dialer.
- Type *#*#6484#*#*
- This opens the CIT menu. Scroll down and look for RPMB Provisioning.
- It must say YES.
If it says "No," go back to the tool and try Method 2.
5. Finish UpAlso read :
Once you see that "YES," the hard part is over. The security key is permanently burned in.
Now, just put the phone back into EDL or Fastboot and flash the normal Official Stock Firmware. The phone will boot up like a brand-new device. Since this is a permanent hardware fix, you can update or reset the phone later without the phone dying on you.
That’s it. No manual typing, no racing against reboots.
